HVO100

At Seacon, we are actively committed to making our logistics chain more sustainable. Since September 1, 2025, we have been using HVO100—a renewable diesel—for specific road freight within our own operations. This choice contributes directly to reducing CO₂ emissions. Interested? What is hvo100?

HVO100 stands for Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil and is a sustainable fuel produced from renewable raw materials such as vegetable oils and residual fats. It is a cleaner alternative to fossil diesel and can be used in existing diesel vehicles without any technical modifications. HVO100 can emit up to 90% less CO₂ than conventional diesel, depending on the raw materials and production method.

How do we use hvo100?

Within selected road transport flows, we have carriers that are part of our logistics operation refuel with HVO100. This is done through a partnership with Vissers Energy. Because this effort takes place within our own chain, the reduction in emissions is directly measurable and relevant to our joint impact. This solution is currently being used for less than truck loads (LTL) and groupage, where multiple shipments are combined.

This use of HVO100 is applied according to the so-called insetting concept, whereby CO₂ reduction takes place within the logistics chain and is directly allocated to customer shipments. This form of allocation allows our customers to demonstrably benefit from the sustainable impact achieved for their shipments.

This approach is a first step. In the future, we want to expand this further with other partners so that we can contribute to a more sustainable logistics sector on a larger scale.

For full truck loads (FTL), we are committed to making the partners in our logistics chain more sustainable, with the aim of offering a structurally more sustainable solution for our customers.
