We at Seacon Logistics are very happy with our clients, which is why we're keen to share some stories of great collaborations. Here we talk to Sjaak Timmermans, Senior Manager Logistics Sourcing at Herbalife Nutrition.
Herbalife Nutrition is a global nutrition company. Since it was founded in 1980, it has been on a mission to improve nutritional habits around the world with great-tasting, science-backed nutrition products that help people get the right balance of healthy nutrition. The company's products are available exclusively through trained Herbalife Nutrition distributors (Members) who provide comprehensive and personalized solutions to their customers’ nutrition and wellness goals. Herbalife Nutrition is listed on the NYSE, had sales of close to $5 billion In 2019 and is present in more than 90 countries worldwide.
Since 1998, Herbalife's EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) distribution centre has been located in Venray. This location is the base for distributing Herbalife products to the individual Members in Europe as well as to distribution centres worldwide. They also perform an expertise and audit role in the field of customs and transport matters, stock management, facility matters and event support for all Herbalife locations.

“Herbalife's first acquaintance with Seacon Logistics was in 2003. This collaboration came to an end, but was renewed in 2015. We were seeking a new logistics partner who could organise our goods import better and more efficiently. Seacon turned out to be the ideal partner for this. They've been taking care of export for us for a few years now too," Sjaak says.
"From the Herbalife distribution centre in Venray, we serve Members in a total of 15 countries and we supply distribution centres in 96 countries worldwide. Our primary purpose is to serve the EMEA market, but thanks to our central location in Europe, from Venray we're actually able to serve the whole world. Because there are a range of goods flows coming and going, it's important that we keep the number of communication channels to a minimum and work with just one company that both imports and exports. It's also important that this business is able to think along with us, is flexible, communicates clearly, is committed, and values us as a client. That's why we chose Seacon as our logistics partner."

For example, I attended a seminar on the possible consequences of Brexit. We are also informed about the possibilities and opportunities of the new Incoterms. It's great that they're so proactive and keep their customers on top of the latest developments.”
