Seacon Logistics opens branch Meppel

PRESS RELEASE, 29 July 2011 - On 1 August, Seacon Logistics will open its own branch at the Meppel Container Terminal in Meppel. Seacon Logistics will be serving the four northern provinces with air and sea freight services from this new business unit. Just like the other Seacon Logistics branches, this branch is situated at a multimodal junction of waterway and road connections.  The office will open with four full-time employees focussing on the import and export flows of shippers in this region.

Seacon Logistics, with its origins in Limburg, celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2010. The company has already gone through several phases of growth. ‘The opening of the new Meppel location is giving shape to the growth strategy envisaged by Seacon. We continue to build on the concept of offering worldwide logistic supply chain services from multimodal locations. This location will also give us coverage of and more grip on the logistics market in the northern region of the Netherlands’, says director of forwarding and transport Frank Hermans.

Seacon Logistics offers custom logistics services and, in line with market needs, will invest in the construction of warehouse facilities for storage and added value activities in the medium term.

‘The concept Seacon Logistics has in mind will have added value for this region. The Meppel location can develop into a logistics hotspot acting as a flywheel for the local economy’, says Ton Pot, branch manager at Seacon Logistics Meppel.
