Seacon Logistics gains AEO status
Seacon Logistics and subsidiary CTV-Container Trucking Venlo are proud to belong to the select group of AEO certified companies. Both companies now have the combined AEO certificate, on the basis of which they qualify not only for customs simplifications, but also for advantages in the field of security & safety inspections.
Thanks to this AEO status, Seacon Logistics and CTV will be considered reliable partners in the field of customs transactions across the EU (but also beyond). This will produce direct advantages in the whole supply chain. The logistic process can take place with greater flexibility and without extra delays caused by customs inspections.
According to Mr Jan Faessen, AEO project group chairman, the team worked for more than one year and coordinated the project aimed at achieving AEO certification. ‘Particularly in the warehouses, but by no means only there, the changes did not go unnoticed and people really had to get used to the different approach. Especially regarding the measures in the field of security & safety. In addition, a number of the employees had to follow a Security-awareness course’, says Quality Manager Len Gielen.
Customs offer certain facilities to AEO certificate holders, including:
- fewer physical Customs inspections and document checks
- priority treatment if selected for controls
- the right to request controls to be carried out at a certain preferred location
- no checks of previously checked criteria when applying for subsequent licences
From 31 January 2010, the holders of the Security & Safety Certificate and the combined Customs Simplification and Security & Safety Certificate in the Netherlands will receive the following additional advantages:
- prior notifications of controls
- submission of summary declarations
