Seacon Logistics acquires 100% interest in Intercontor Holland
As from 16 February, Intercontor Holland BV will become part of the Seacon Logistics Group. Intercontor Holland is a family owned enterprise that has been operating as a forwarder to South East Europe from its base in Venlo since 1989. The company had been looking for a reliable takeover partner that would guarantee the continuity of the company and the future of its employees. The entire team of twelve full time staff will continue to work at Intercontor Holland BV, while in the background activities will be developed to create synergy advantages for the customers.
Intercontor Holland has evolved into a forwarding specialist with a particular accent on Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria. Intercontor also has branches in Greece and Turkey and offices in Athens, Thessaloniki and Istanbul. These offices are not part of the takeover, but will continue to actively cooperate as partners with Seacon Logistics. Following the takeover, Peter Eekels will remain as General Manager of the latest addition to the Seacon Logistics Group. “Looking to the future, it’s a positive development to join forces with a stronger partner, certainly if that partner shares the same values and principles”, comments Eekels. “The family tradition, the stable financial base and the global network that Seacon Logistics enjoys is a good fit with the strategy and continuity that Intercontor Holland has in mind.”
Seacon Logistics, that started life in Blerick, celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2010. The company has already experienced various expansion phases. “By taking over Intercontor Holland we are adding another specialism to the existing portfolio. Due to the trend of shifting production from Asia to South East Europe, Greece, Bulgaria and in particular Turkey are extremely interesting growth markets for Seacon Logistics. This completes our own range of forwarding services to all the external borders of Europe” says Forwarding and Transport Director Frank Hermans.
